So, is anyone else troubled by the fact that Matt Carson romps around the blogosphere leaving his comments on everyone else's posts but does not reciprocate the opportunity in kind? I mean, don't get me wrong; I love Matt Carson (like a rash loves salve) but I think that he is shortchanging us. His responses to our posts are, every single time, poignant and entertaining. Matt, this is an intervention.
I propose the following: Matt should create a blog that is more than just his name on a page. He should have a viewable profile and should grace us with his musings from time to time in true blog fashion, not just responses to our posts.
The long and short of it is that I crave something more. That's right Matt, I crave you. Oh, and then I could also take Matt seriously when he calls me out for not posting in a while. He could "lead by example".
In closing, Matt Carson, consider yourself on notice. I expect your prompt attention to this matter. Granted, this is Memorial Day weekend. Out of consideration for you and your family I will understand if you don't have it up and running by Tuesday. Wednesday will be fine. Oh, and use pictures. Not too many, though. It's not a scrapbook.

hahaha wow thanks for the call-out! i especially like the rash/salve statement. did you know my grandma has a secret salve formula? it's called... wait for it... "grandma's salve". it's only known by two living people, and whenever they go to get the ingredients, they never buy everything at the same store so people won't get wind of the recipe. let's just say that lance armstrong would never be allowed to race again if he used this stuff, it's that good.
anyhow, my point to the salve story is this: i consider myself the cat-burger of the blogging world. i go around and randomly post on other people's sites, in a pretty regular fasion. this is my form of blogging. if i were to blog myself, i don't know if i could keep up w/ my, as you put it, "romping".
so there it is kids. plus, i can't spell. i had to look up "recipe", because the closest i could get was "receipt". i'm totally serious. in conclusion, i'll think about it.
I whole-heartedly concur Erik...although I love that he takes the time to read & thereby comment on my blog on a very regular basis, I think it is long past due for Matt to step up to the plate, take the bull by the horns, and whatever cliche would prompt him to put his thoughts in a public location. Don't worry about spelling Matt, have you read everyone's blogs??? I think collectively we may have a 6th-grade education (except for me & Erik of course...or is it Erik & I...hmmmmm). Plus, you can use the blog forum to post such interesting family recipes (not their receipts) as "grandma's salve". Just one question, is it legal?? Good luck!
Erik great point. I was planning on emailing our blogless friend and suggest this to him, but your idea was much better. Get on it Mr. Matt. We will patiently wait for you to make a good choice about this.
So I am new to the blogging "world" since I started to read Sandy's and its linked to everyone else's. I do have to say Erik, I did make the same conclusion that Matt has a lot of insightful points to add to everyone’s blogs, and wondered why he didn't have his own. It’s a good thing you staged an intervention. But.. I have to say that I’ve never heard that rash/salve thing before. I don't really get it.
I am a horrible speller, so when I am done typing in one of these boxes online, I copy and paste it into word and correct it and paste it back. Plus, then you get the added bonus of grammar checking. I'm serious. Matt, couldn't you invent some software that would spell check as you write your blog?

Agreed, but I'm of the school that would have everyone I know blogging, if possible. I don't get out much, and sometimes live in Africa, so I like thinking I can keep up with peoples lives despite being terrible at email.

As for the spelling. Pshhh, you haven't even SEEN bad spelling 'til you've looked at my grocery list. Safari doesn't support it, but Firefox spell checks AS YOU WRITE (I didn't even ask it to do that!). Grammar is still up to you, though. We'll just try not to judge....
I'm thinking the spelling thing was a lame excuse. I think the better one was the time constraints of keeping up with everyone else's thoughts if you start blogging yourself. It's tough, I agree. For me, nap-times work best, over a cup of coffee.... Just a tip.
